I also think that SIP based phones are the go for business as that's what all the real phone people use.

I also tried 3CX, it's a great peice of software but it was too much mucking around in my opinion.

I'm about to try mynetfone's virtual pbx with SNOM IP phones, might work...might not
I have read on a blog that Skype is even in court with its VoIP that reputably belongs to someone else. Any update with this issue?

Well, as for me RingCentral's $7.99/month on an annually paid plan phone system works great for me. It includes voicemail, internet fax, toll free or local number, PBX extensions, online management, etc.

Unfortunately, I think it is not. But maybe they can offer an abroad service. It is usually in UK, Canada and US. I am just sharing what kind of phone system we are utilizing on the business.

A while ago, a year or two now, Skype was sold to Ebay. Ebay botched up the agreement and apparently they didn't buy the whole kit and kaboodal. So there is currently a law suit trying to getting it everything fully owned, including the important parts.

Something along those lines anyway (I'm far from an authority on the matter)....

I don't think it's relevant for making a decision though...Skype are for the budget home market, anything else, there's better options...

Hi

Engin have a hosted PBX service for small business that should suit your requirements.

Haven't used it myself but have heard good things from others who have.

Is this what you are referring: http://pbxinaflash.net/ ?

Isn't that just the server software, but you still need a service provider for them to connect? I notice your sig has phone system links - who do you normally go through as a provider?

For a small business, your best options are Panasonic, Samsung and NEC. Think about common brands that you know make good electrical products like plasma TV's etc. I really feel people from a non technical background should stay away from voip systems like trixbox and stick with a traditional telephone system that works first time everytime. I own a Panasonic dealership so I am a little biased but I have personaly installed hundreds of phone systems in small businesses and I can say that for the average small business owner, you cannot do better than the Panasonic TDA30 phone system. If you install the voice mail/queuing card, you can have a message to answer calls, play a message and queue them until you can answer. You can have a different message for night/holidays and a personal mailbox for each phone handset.

Panasonic, NEC, LG and samsung phone systems all have these features and all cost about the same amount. For a small phone system with 4 handsets you will pay around $2200 and about $2700 with voice mail.

Panasonic phone systems, small business phone systems
