Paul,
I am with Aweber.
I'm not that impressed with it at all.
I would be interested to know how you get around the import!

I would recommend NOT to use 1shoppingcart unless you are a really brilliant IT guy.
It destroyed my list and my income for 12 months!

Rgds,
Ric

The reason AWeber has such a good name, and high deliverability rate is because they positively and absolutely require everyone on your list to reconfirm their subscription.
The subscriber's IP address is captured, and is proof that they subscribed.
I'd be interested to know how "gettnig around" it was achieved.

Yes, it's true that a percentage of your list won't renew if you change.

But they're likely to be the people who delete your mail without even looking at it, and they're probably no great loss if you lose them.

Another company whose service is excellent is www.GetResponse.com

Be warned however, that there's somewhat of a learning curve behind the smooth operation and setting of autoresponders.

But it's far preferable to trying to run a mailing list using Outlook on your PC.

Regards, Eric G.

We offer an email marketing solution.

We know our competitors are not providing the level of support and value-added services most customers need and to be honest it's the main reason we started offering an Email Marketing solution.

We provide a local service for Australian based businesses. We deliberately don’t have an on-line support channel because we want our customers to know they can contact us directly if they need help. Typically most enquiries require a simple answer and that shouldn't be something you should wait days for.

The key points of differentiation we offer with our email marketing solution are:

Local support (i.e. Australian based) – we have people you can telephone (or email directly) when you have questions or if you need some help.

The functionality offered is very similar to our competitors but our customers believe our product is much easier to use, especially for people who aren't familiar with the concepts of email marketing, HTML and so forth. Infact, some of the functionality is above and beyond some of the competing products.

Although we don't sell our product on price and instead we sell on quality of our personalised service, our pricing model is flexible and in many cases more competitively priced.

We're focused on the Australian market because we know first-hand that businesses need support who they can contact to get answers when they need it - not just via a website help-desk but also pick up the phone or directly email if necessary.

We provide customers with on-site support if located in Sydney or Canberra (and soon we hope to expand that to include Melbourne).

We have taken on customers from ConstantContact, 1ShoppingCart, and AWeber. All of them have varying reasons for leaving their previous Email Marketing solution.

Typically we found that customers were not happy with the pricing model, some don't have the functionality that a proper email marketing solution has. Some of them you have to use your own email servers - which most Web Hosting companies won't have a bar of.

One customer told their Email Marketing provider wouldn't allow them to use their own template which their designer had created, they had to use one of the built-in templates.

If you want to deal with a supplier that offers the personalised service and appreciates you, not just some company that bills your credit card each month, then let me know. We'll send you a demo account and you can try it out for yourself.

There's been lots of good responses but given that this is a topic I've been doing a lot of research on recently, I thought I'd chip in by 2c:

AWeber: If autoresponders (wikipedia) Aweber are the masters. The user interface is great and pricing start from around US$20 per month. US Based.

iContact: An affordable solution. The interface can be confusing at times. Good WYSIWYG editor. US based.

Big Response Developed in Australia, looks like a great solution for all levels of e-marketing. Prices start from US$10 per month. There is also a self hosted solution from Interspire - the creators of Big Response.

I'm a bit late on this thread, but new to the forum and thought I'd also add a couple of comments seeing there has been quite a bit of discussion about AWeber.

I own EmailMarketingSoftware.com.au - we are private label partners of AWeber, based in Australia.

BrightBiz mentioned some AWeber "white label" partners that still have the old, cheaper pricing model - that would include us. AWeber put their prices up last year, but our pricing is still $19.95usd for 5000 subscribers and unlimited emails.

I was an AWeber customer before I became a partner. I started a business and used them for email marketing. I really liked their features for the price and they have some of the highest profile internet marketers and bloggers who recommend them.

After 3 years I decided I wanted to get into online business, so I sold the other business and started Email Marketing Software as an AWeber partner.

So I definitely recommend AWeber and think they are worth checking out - but not just because I utilise their software now. Their integrity and innovation has always impressed me. I thought some of you may be also interested to know that there is also a private Label partner of theirs in Oz on the old pricing model.

See you around the forums, Luke

I've used US/Polish based Getresponse for YEARS - love them.
Fair price at around $20US a month.

They compete very favourably with AWeber (their major competition).

Lots of great features, and easy enough to use although if I was to say anything negative about them, it is that they have constantly changed their dashboard over the years and lost some of the very user friendly aspect to it. Now it is same-same as others which is a downside.

Still a great product and longevity in the marketplace.

Look up getresponse - you'll find them easily enough.

I have also used for a client 1shoppingcart - it is okay but it didn't really wow me.
