Trouble Accessing Forums and My Blogs

Good evening,

Hope that I am not out of place asking a maybe technical question here. I am at the moment having a lot of trouble with internet log-ins. I have been unable to access my blogs for about four weeks now. It is most certainly not Word Press' fault, and they have been very diligent in trying to help me to troubleshoot the problem. On other forums I either can't login at all, or am having to log in each time I want to make a comment. I also cannot view my control panel easily. I have cleared the cache, changed my browser to firefox and all sorts of wonderful things in an effort to clear up this problem. Any suggestion on what might be wrong would be so so so very much appreciated.

Hi Rachel

I hate to be an alarmist, but my first thought was perhaps you've been hacked. I hope I'm wrong ... but it might be worth changing the rest of your passwords, just in case.

Ensure your anti-virus and spyware software is up to date and working.
Reset all your comms gear (router/modem). This one sounds weird but I occasionally have problems logging into secure sites where the browser sits there and times out. When I reset my router, I try again and all is good.
If you installed any new software just prior to this issue, find out (google) if it has an inherent issues (causes problems, is infested with virus etc) and ensure it came from a reputable source.

Lol, my posting here seems to have magically fixed most of my problems... actually I probably got so frustrated that I spoke to my husband and he had a look see and fixed it for me. I found out that our firewall is so good that it was providing me limited access to forums. I'm still trying to work out the problem with accessing Wordpress though.

Sometimes automatic updates (mainly microsoft) cause changes in firewall settings or browser settings which in turn can cause issues with accessing internet.
