Lunch Meetup in Bentleigh (SE Melb) 23 Jan 2012

We're continuing the tradition of Monday Lunches into 2012 and we'd love to have you join us! The Meetups have been going now since March 2011 and, although we took a break this month, the next one will be on Monday the 23rd January 12.30 - 2.00pm.

Come along prepared to introduce yourself and your business to the group and we'll have someone sharing the benefit of their experience with you as well. In January's Meetup we'll be having a discussion about "Mindsets" with Tashia Searle of Success Spectrum.

We've changed the format a little this year and, to cover the cost of lunch, GST and the booking fees, we'll be charging $20 for first time visitors and $15 for regulars. I'm sure you'll understand!

sound slike a great idea. when i get back to melbourne i will definitely try to come to one of these meetups... great way to get new ideas and get motivated to do more work...! working at home alone as many people do who run websites can be very unmotivating sometimes... also its great to meet potential new collaborators. i need a css expert for instance...

Hi Gossipism, we're not half as structured as a formal networking group like BNI. Our meetups are run along Flying Solo guidelines so the intention is to get out of your home office/ solo office and interact with others that are on the same journey as you, but might be able to help you (or the other way around). Everyone gets a chance to introduce themselves and their business to the group and then we have someone provide a focus by starting a discussion around their expertise. We provide lunch and then you can chat to whomever you choose. Our place is small, so we limit the numbers to 12-14 at a time. We usually get half a room of regulars and half of new business owners.

We'd love to have you come along and try it out and make some new friends and connections.

Hi Brendan, we'd love to have you join us. The group is small (12-14) because of the size of the room available, but also because of the nature of the meetup. People are encouraged to give of their experience and share milestones with the group which makes it much easier (less intimidating) if there are fewer in the room. It's more about "support network" and less about selling to peers. Hope we see you there!

A BIG thank you to everyone that made the first meetup of the year. We actually had 16 people turn up unexpectedly so Congratulations to Matt from Whe-eat Food Concepts in stretching a lunch originally meant for 10! Seems like we've hit a chord with you all, so please look out for the next post....
