Now Flying Solo, I get really uptight when I see words spelt incorrectly.

i before e, except after c - RECEIVE is the word so many people cannot spell.

I just found the typo on your website here: http://www.flyingsolo.com.au/adverti...-solo-specials

Another word people struggle with is separated - The 'R' is separated by the 'A's is the rule to remember.

Hope this helps anyone who reads!

Hi Gayle, what a great tool... and very timely considering the conversation happening on my Facebook page, where I asked if anyone had ever noticed an error on someone else's website, and if so, would the notify them of it?

The only thing I found lacking was that it doesn't tell you which pages you need to review, so it can be a little time consuming trying to track any reported errors, but well worth checking out, nonetheless.

Ahh, maybe that is something you have to pay for as you used to be able to click and see. In Google you could type the misspelt word then your domain name.

Example: recieved:flyingsolo.com.au

I also meant to mention, use Firefox as your browser instead of Internet Explorer. Next install an add-on called English [Australian] Dictionary. Any typos are underlined in red; even in text boxes for forms!

Gayle, we get really uptight when we see typos on the site too, but with so many pages of text they do sometimes slip by us and wreak havoc. Thank you SOOOOOO (intentional typo, that one!) much for alerting us, and we will fix it ASAP!

Love your work!
Jayne

Its a nice tool. But I get too many words as typos.

Such a 'iPad' & 'Gravatar'

Mine is a tech blog so it didn't work well as so many terms are tech words.

Could well be. I also used it in Chrome, so not sure if that made a difference. Either way, thanks for sharing.

unfortunately it didn't seem to want to go through my 500 or so products individually (don't blame it!) and it picked up Australian spellings as errors, but good tool if you have an info based website.

Another annoying typo is graphic designers who cannot spell stationery!

Stationary is to stop......

Stationery is what you write on.

I tend not to trust techy tools to do my proofing for me.

Yes, I do generally tell people about their typos. Some people have been incredibly grateful while others don't bother to reply (I do hope they put the suggestions in place, though).

Thanks for sharing these information. I was a bit surprise when I tried it and they analyze my sample url very fast. It's very useful!
