Excel, you have been conquered!

I just had to provide some feedback on the work completed by a fellow FS member. Calcul8rs has just assisted me by creating a bespoke application for me to use on calculating data from multiple spreadsheets.

I am not computer illiterate, but thought that what I was doing was as good as it would get. That process used to take me at least 15mins per day, every day.

After a quick explanation of the task and outcome to Calcul8ors, his response was : yep, I think I can help. Not 3 days later, he had created the application and what was a 15min+ task has now been turned into less than 30 seconds!

I would also like to point out that I contacted another 'Excel specialist' (not an FS member) at the same time, and I haven't even received his proposal yet!

So if you are user of excel, and find yourself thinking 'I am sure there is an easier way' do yourself a favour and get in touch with Calcul8ors.

This is not a paid endorsement, I am just so ecstatic with the job he has done, I had to share it with everyone here!

Carl, I can see why you're stoked. I was inspired to just do some quick maths, and at 15 minutes, five days a week for say 50 weeks of the year, I reckon Calcul8tor's just given you back about a working week and a half (60 hours) a year that you can use to do more profitable and/or fun stuff.

Thank you Jayne, streamlining processes and improving productivity while minimising effort and time requirements is what I do best, and have been doing for a number of large companies for many years now.

I would like nothing more than to be able to offer the kind of problem-solving techniques that large organisations have had access to for so long, to smaller enterprises where the benefits are not only immediately beneficial, but tangible and demonstrable as well, as was the case with this project for AgentMail. Obviously, I will be more than happy to work with any other FS member who might need my assistance.

And Khalid, I will (as time permits over the next few days) create a page on my website with information and screenshots, so that you and anyone else who might be interested can see the app in action.

There are a number of other people for whom I am in the process of creating a Project & Quote Tracking/Costing system that has taken much longer than I had initially anticipated because of its complexity, that I also promise to have more details about soon. So watch this space!

Hopefully, if I can continue being of service to my fellow FS members, one fine day soon, I will be able to graciously tender my resignation at the large FMCG organisation I am currently employed with, and launch myself into the solo career I have been yearning for!
