Default Smart Tools - save time & money

I would be interested to hear about smart tools that save time or money?

One thing I always tell my clients about is UTBox |Internet Fax, including Fax by Email, Fax Broadcasting and sending and receiving SMS from PC
which is a fax / sms service so you can send faxes & sms directly from your computer - saving paper, cost of a fax machine, and space in the office!

You can save money, and promote how your business is 'green'.

My referral code is :- PSRE-SSQY-6CBK which gives you $5 off plus one month free if you sign up.

What other suggestions do you have?

UTBox sounds great MYOB. I will give the trial a go except I am Gold Coast-based and its going to give me a Brisbane fax number? Whats been your experience of it MYOB?

My smart tool reccommendation would be PrimoPDF - freeware PDF-maker program which is failsafe. Hope this helps someone!

I recently discovered presort codes with Australia Post. By having these & sorting our magazine mail out by them, we were able to save quite a lot on postage!

I also love my Engin phone number. It's a VoIP service & because my internet is currently too slow, it's set up as an answering service. It's cheap & it emails me messages so I can call people back

All IT professionals will tell you to ensure that your work PCs are always backed up. Unfortunately most people don't do it and pay the consequences when their PC crashes or is stolen. A smart tooll people can use the save them time when backing up is online backup. Online backup allows you to automatically keep you PCs backed up without having to really lift a finger. No more hard drives, and messy usb sticks.

Online is simple and automatic. Just what the small business owner needs.

Services such as Carbonite are also very affordable for the small business.

I use Mozy and have been very happy with it.
The personal version is free for up to 2GB's of data.

One of the things I like about utbox, is that I can set up my virtual teamon it. So a team member in Wynnum can be at her home, and send a fax via my utbox account, it comes tthrough my business, I pay for it & it allows us to work virtually.

I have not yet found anything about utbox I don't like - feel free to ask me if you have nay other technical questions about it...

Really simple to set-up to!

Isn't carbonite American? Does it still cost $50?

I wanted to go that way - but hubby did not like the though of an on-line back up.

So we are with Maxtor...though I amnot impressed with it - I need a Maxtor consultant !!

If only everysoftware had certified consultants like MYOB, that could come to your house and sort these things out in a jiffy!

Some of my favourite tools are:

mbox for internet/email based fax
InstantTeleseminar.com for webcasts
InstantVideoGenerator.com for putting streaming video on my website
skype for weekly huddles with my VA team
Aweber for managing my subscriber list and broadcasting my ezines
1shoppingcart for my online sales processing

Heather - that UTBox fax/SMS facility is absolutely the best thing I have come across in a while. I have signed up today and already used it in sending and receiving faxes - brilliant!

thanks a million for mentioning it. Highly recommended.

Patrick.

Maxtor is no more, its owned by Seagate, although the make of the disk is not important, they all work the same.
Its like wanting a Bridgestone consultant to change a tyre, they are all black, round and made of rubber (tyres not disks

I think there is more danger in running your own backup than there is in an automatic online backup.

My Smart tool and its another freebie!! it must be the season for giving eh. Although there are paid versions too.

Yousendit is for sending large files over the internet. Instead of sending it through the email system which can upset some people on dial up (Yes they still exist) you send an email with a link.
