Default Do you get "dressed for work" ??

I have found that if I do not get dressed in "office clothes" I don't go into "work mode"

So what about you?? Are able to work well in your pj's??

Interesting topic - I believe that different people different result, some would work ok in pj's while some better in "work attire".

Personally I like to get dressed and have a little routine on days I might not be seeing any clients (obviously get dressed for those) - I usually either walk (winter) or cycle (summer) for about an hour, which is my commute. Then shower, dress and head into the office, my office is set up in the style and decor of a CBD type office as well. I do it this way to have a distinct line between work and home otherwise I find that the lines become blurred and one or the other may suffer.

I also believe most sme owners are obsessed with their businesses and this can present issues in other areas of their lives if they don't have the discipline to balance working from home with home life.

I dont do the cleaning work myself these days as I have contractors do that but I work out of an office, so yes, i do get dressed up. Not suit and tie though but professional enough so that when clients should come into the office, I look professional. It also helps with getting into the business mode as well.

Not dressed up but definitely dressed. We get deliveries and the post man turns up to collect at least once a day so getting dressed is a must. Having said that, this time of the year, its jeans, jumper and jacket and not too smart. I had enough of dressing smart when working for someone else, working for me, I dress as me.

When working at home:

I wake up, shower then I'm in my underwear until I need to go out do to some errands or see a Client but I'm usually dressed by 4-5pm if I don't leave the house.

I've got to confess that I do most of my work in my pj's or trackies, one of the perks of doing 99.9% of work by phone.

To keep the work/life balance I've set "business hours". So once the phone is turned on, I'm switched on to business mode.

Spent alot of years dressing corporate, so totally enjoying the grungy bum style at home.

This article is a few years old but is still worth a read - the comments are interesting too!

I definitely err to the slobbish side, I couldn't imagine working in winter without my Uggs on, for example.

Marianne, I so hoped your post was going to say "My girls get undressed for work!" ;-)

Hope you are enjoying a nice grungy trakky dacks and ugg boot day. Nice weather for it here in Sydney, I must say!

Love your work!
Jayne

I don't: however I should!!!!
As i try to go to the gym after the office, I come in half gym clothes / half decent and then just change half before going to the gym.
But I love to dress up! In summer I will: I promise!

Slightly off-topic, but here is the sequence of dressing for the girls;

dress normal to arrive at booking
undress
dress in costume for show
undress during show
dress in normal for next booking

Ah its a such a glamorous job
