Changes to product safety laws

Monday 01 November 2010

With the introduction of the new Australian Consumer Law (ACL) on 1 January 2011, changes will be made to the national product safety system.

To inform businesses of these changes, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) will be holding a free seminar in Sydney on 12 November 2010. The seminar provides an opportunity for your business to be informed of the product safety provisions of the ACL and what impact this will have on your operations.

Business owners unable to attend can view the event online through a live webinar. A video recording will also be made available online after the event.

For information on the changes, or to register for the seminar or webinar, visit the Product Safety Australia website.

Find out more about current standards by visiting our Product safety & standards topic.
