In this podcast Sam Cavanagh, the National Executive Producer for Austereo, talks about how to create raving fans in your business.

10 Feb 13 | Tim Reid

Sam is responsible for the creative output, and ultimately the ratings success of some of Australia’s most popular on-air talent including Hamish and Andy, Jules and Fifi, Merrick & the Highay Patrol and The Grill Team.

Sam has spent a lot of time recently mulling over and implementing the concept of turning listeners in to raving fans – it’s a complete mindset change as Sammy explains; one that once you get your head around has a major positive impact on your business.

In this Small Business Big Marketing podcast, Tim Reid talks to Sam Cavanagh about:

  • The difference between a listener (AKA customer) and a raving fan.
  • How to create raving fans.
  • How to nurture them so they do the marketing for you.

They then go on to talk about idea creation – something radio people do often given the amount of content they need to create. Sam shares what makes a good idea, how they generate them plus he takes us inside a concept development meeting.

They also talk about the power of social media and why we shouldn’t be ignoring it.

About these podcasts: The Small Business, Big Marketing podcasts are characterised by plenty of chit chat from Tim who'll typically kick off with nuggets of advice and tell shaggy dog stories before diving in to the episode's topic. Sit back, relax and enjoy!
