Jodie McLeod is a writer, journalist and editor who first got a taste for solo life when she waved her desk job goodbye and travelled around Europe, working as a freelancer. The idea that she could do her job from anywhere — conducting interviews over Skype from hostel dorm rooms and writing articles on trains passing through Italy and France — made her realise that Soloism really was “the life”.
With some glossy magazines to her name (Jodie is editor of Complete Wedding Sydney and co-editor of restaurant guide Cheap Eats 2011–12), as well as numerous articles published in local and international publications, including The Sydney Morning Herald, Jodie has re-entered the solo world — based now at her new digs in the Blue Mountains — as editor of Flying Solo and as a freelance editor and writer.
Jodie also has a degree in creative writing, and likes to dabble in writing fiction and the occasional lyric and melody. She hopes the view from her desk will inspire her to do more of each.
