Employment status of workers

The people working in your business can fall under a range of categories of employment. Each has a different set of obligations for you, the employer, and the people who work for you. The categories are:

  • Full-time employees
  • Part-time employees
  • Casual employees
  • Probationary employees
  • Fixed term employees.

It's important to clearly distinguish if your workers are employees or independent contractors, so that you can properly determine the wages and other employment conditions of your workers.
