Registered training organisations (RTOs) are authorised to deliver nationally recognised training. There are around 5 000 RTOs in Australia, and all differ in terms of their products and services.
RTOs must meet nationally recognised standards of quality and deliver nationally recognised training. They must be registered by the training authority in the state or territory in which they operate.
A training package is a set of nationally endorsed competencies developed for a specific industry, industry sector or enterprise. Training packages are developed by industry to meet identified training needs of specific industries or industry sectors.
