Drought Assistance

Tuesday 17 June 2008

As a drought-affected business in NSW and QLD, you should be aware of recent changes to eligible drought assistance regions announced in response to a recent review.

The amendments to the drought assistance boundaries include regions where rainfall has eased drought conditions. The regions in which support is still available include:

  • Bourke Rural Lands Protection Board, NSW
  • Parts of Winton Shire Council, QLD
  • Lockyer Valley Regional Council, QLD
  • Banana Shire Council, QLD
  • Gladstone Regional Council, QLD.

If you are unsure whether your business is still entitled to drought assistance, please visit the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry Drought Assistance page or phone the Drought Assistance Hotline on 13 23 16.
