Behind the Business: Andrew Wilcher
Urban Art Constructions is a progressive thinking building company specialising in all aspects of residential and light commercial construction work.
In 2012 I consulted Andrew Wilcher from Urban Art Constructions about undertaking an extension to my house in Ashgrove Brisbane. Andrew and I discussed what I wanted to achieve and the best way to proceed. He gave professional guidance and encouraged me to check out his web page which shows some of his previous work. Very impressive!
Andrew had previously worked with my chosen designer so that was very handy. Andrew insisted on all quotes for works and Council Building Applications being properly documented to ensure I was aware of all costs including a payment schedule and that everything was done in a professional manner. He made himself available for discussions at regular intervals and kept me up to date on how the project was progressing. Any issues were immediately dealt with and resolved to my satisfaction.
I am very pleased with the finished building and have received many compliments on the look and the workmanship of the extension which fronts the street. I found Andrew to be extremely professional and a pleasure to deal with. I have no problem in recommending him to other people looking for an honest and competent builder to do extensions, renovations or new building work.
We engaged Andrew Wilcher of Urban Art Constructions to carry out some construction works on our small lot in early 2012. It was a complex job requiring site excavation, construction of retaining walls, and significant skill from builders and other trades alike.
We've worked with a number of builders on a range of projects and are the first to admit we're unashamedly demanding clients. Andrew impressed us with the care and attention he paid to every aspect of the job. From the outset he was open and transparent about every cost and would come up with alternatives that kept within our budget without sacrificing standards. He sorted out the complexities of Council Development Approval conditions, dealt with a range of unexpected challenges on site and was always genuinely interested and patient communicating and responding to our needs. Throughout the project he was uncompromising in striving for the highest standards and would have work redone if it fell short of his expectations. Every day, the site was left tidy, safe and secure - something we and our neighbours appreciated enormously and marvelled at a lot.
We couldn't be more pleased with Andrew's work and we have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone who is looking for a builder who not only takes great pride in doing a job extremely well but also has the skills and commitment to achieve a really outstanding result within the agreed budget and timeframe.
To sum up, Andrew and his team are exceptionally good at what they do and really nice guys to boot. We couldn't have asked for better.

Re: Andrew Wilcher
Urban Art Construction
Andrew Wilcher has been our builder for a number of projects in our home over several years, including installation of new laundry and kitchen, insertion of high level automated louvre windows, and major reconstruction of walls and floors after termite damage. It has been a pleasure to work with Andrew throughout these building projects. Many people relay stories of bad experiences with their builders – but in our case nothing could be further than the truth.
Andrew is always polite, punctual, and professional in his dealings with us. The paperwork and contracts are detailed, and all the insurance and council approvals organised appropriately. We have found his costs to be appropriate and itemised carefully.
The quality of his building work is outstanding, and completed on time and with an extraordinary minimum of mess. Andrew has left our home in neat and tidy condition on every single day that he has worked with us, including times with scaffolding in the house and during removal of ceilings and walls, so that we have always been able to live at home comfortably through the building works.
His staff and contractors have similarly been lovely to work with, but Andrew has always played a direct role in supervision and we were always aware that he took ultimate responsibility for the projects.
We would have no hesitation in recommending Andrew as an utterly reliable and honest builder with high professional standards both for his workmanship and for his dealings with clients. Frankly, he is a really decent man, and we were lucky to have found him.
