We ask the tough questions
You’ve got a free half hour during your work day. What do you do?
Call a past client for a bit of a chat and a catch up.
Who, or what, is your biggest inspiration?
Dr Wayne Dyer and Abraham-Hicks for their lessons on the bigger picture in life and how to 'attract' what you really want.
What’s the one resource you’d never be without?
My iPhone – it runs my business most of the time and frees me from the office!
What’s the most enjoyable element of your work? And the least enjoyable?
Most enjoyable: Having a positive impact in people’s lives and seeing my clients achieve their goals.
Least enjoyable: Working with clients who won’t put in the effort to implement changes that could transform their business and life.
What’s the cheapest, most effective bit of marketing you’ve ever done?
Word of mouth referrals are not only free, they are the most effective marketing for me as prospects have already heard about what I offer and I don’t have to 'sell' or convince them of anything at all.
What’s the biggest challenge you face at work?
Overcoming the objections and perceptions created by some players in the coaching industry who charge ridiculous prices and resort to predatory practices to secure and lock in clients.
What’s the best thing about being a soloist? And the worst thing?
Best: Being able to choose who I work with and what I do with my day.
Worst: I do at times miss the corporate world I left behind 11 years ago, but only briefly until I again realise how fortunate I am to be able to do what I do.
What’s the best piece of business advice you’ve ever been given?
Focus on giving value and helping people and the rewards will show up!
What would be your advice to aspiring soloists?
Have a plan, get good advice, stay positive, be accountable to someone and don't quit until you achieve your goals and dreams. You will be amazed at how many people are willing to help you when you are starting out, maybe even for free!
What inspires you most about your work?
The privilege of being able to help people change their lives
What do you wear to work?
Smart casual. I left the suit behind many years ago because it isn’t me and I felt like I was living a lie.
What do you love most about running your own business?
Being my own boss and having the freedom to do what I want and be with my family
And now comes the plug!
What do you do? Who for? And how does it benefit them?
I provide business improvement advice, business coaching and consulting services to businesses, especially manufacturing, trades and services businesses. I assist with goal setting, profit and productivity improvement, sales, marketing, systems development, motivation and confidence coaching with the end result being a solid and profitable business that runs smoothly with minimal stress and frustration for the owner.
