We ask the tough questions
Would you describe yourself as a technophobe or technophile?
Both. You can't love technology without understanding why it's that little bit frightening.
Who, or what, is your biggest inspiration?
My family.
When meeting someone, would you rather they thought you were charming or mysterious? Why?
Charming. People at ease tell you more and that leads to better service.
What's the best bit of feedback you've ever had?
"You're the best dad, EVER", from my daughter.
What’s your favourite film, book and album?
Film: Blazing Saddles
Book: The Bourne Identity
Album: Ben Folds Five - Whatever and Ever Amen
What’s the one resource you’d never be without?
A freshly ground and very well poured espresso.
What or who has the most grounding influence on you?
My wife.
What’s the best thing about being a soloist? And the worst thing?
Not having a boss to tell me what to do and not having a boss to hide behind.
What’s the best piece of business advice you’ve ever been given?
Concentrate on your core business, and outsource the rest.
What would be your advice to aspiring soloists?
If you see a bandwagon, you're too late.
If your office caught fire, what would you grab first? What would you toss into the flames?
I would grab my laptop and toss the office furniture I don't really like but can't quite bring myself to replace.
How did your school report describe you (in three words)?
Flippant, a-typical, clever.
And now comes the plug!
What do you do? Who for? And how does it benefit them?
Uncomplicating IT provides impartial, independent IT advice in plain English. We help those who don't know that much about IT bridge the technology gap. We save them time and money by ensuring they get the right solution, and not just any solution.
