Google+ is the talk of the town. It’s been spruiked as the latest and greatest, ready to quash Facebook and Twitter in one fell swoop. If you would like Google+ explained in plain English, read on.
It’s hard, however, to understand exactly what it’s about with the avalanche of Google+ articles and posts, many with conflicting views.
Rather than add my fledgling thoughts to the throng, I thought I’d shortlist two of the best posts I’ve found which explain Google+.
Google+ Project: It’s social, it’s bold, it’s fun, and it looks good – now for the hard part
This is the most detailed of the three posts, with links to the most popular videos at the end of the post. I really like it because it chats about both the highlights and the lowlights of the platform, giving us a more rounded view.
The videos are great because they give you a super-quick snapshot of individual functionality, so they’re fab if you’ve not much time.
What resonated most with me about this post is this line:
“Today’s web is about people. To organize the world’s data, you have to understand people.”
Amen.

Understanding the tool is a great start. But what does Google+ mean for the future? How can we use it to improve our businesses?
This is my favourite link of the three because it opens our minds to the possibilities, in particular, from a business angle. In the early stages of a new product, it’s often hard to imagine how it can be of use. This article is a huge help.
Be prepared to contemplate.
