It’s the time of year for me to cast my eye over 2009’s small business articles and select a handful for the best. We’ve seen some crackers in 2009 … here are a few of my favourites.

21 Dec 09 | Sam Leader

Those looking to move office in the New Year will enjoy Peter’s piece Backyard studios: do they work for work?

Headline of the year award goes to Lucinda Lions for Does your website suck? i.e. does it entice visitors to stay?

Mary Morel covered the perennially popular topic of punctuation in her piece on the Correct use of apostrophes.

If you’ve resolved to boost business in 2010, you’ll enjoy Heather Smith’s article Nifty ideas to grow your business.

Charles Cuninghame’s piece How to build a website for just $108 provoked a fair bit of sabre rattling in the comments… always good to see.

Similarly, Sara Howard’s debut article Confessions of a mumpreneur kicked up a bit of dust. It made me smile, as in my experience children/work go together like fish and bicycles.

Plus, we’ve also publishing some top notch video content, with our very own Robert Gerrish interviewing many people including ‘The Process Ninja’, Craig Reid and sticky conversation expert, Hugh Gyton.

One final nod goes to Noel Ranger. If you’ll allow me to express myself in an acronym, his article Noel Ranger is out of the office made me LMAO.

A massive thank you to all our contributors for helping make 2009 Flying Solo’s biggest year yet. Thank YOU, too, for all your engagement via comments, the forum and not forgetting our awesome LIVE! event.
