Career woman, mother, wife and curator-creator of opinions on all things women, Mia Freedman talks to Jodie McLeod about her journey of building and growing women’s lifestyle website, Mamamia.

Mia Freedman has carved a unique path in the world of business. Starting out in women’s magazines she was editor of Cosmopolitan at age 24, had her first of three children soon after, and – by way of a not-so-successful stint in television spent three years as a soloist writing a blog. This blog went on to become the formidable women’s lifestyle website Mamamia, which Mia now runs with her husband Jason Lavigne.

But it doesn’t end there. Mamamia is continually expanding, now with a sister website iVillage, and a presence in radio, print and soon – online retail. Along the way Mia has certainly learnt a thing or two about running a business – and especially about the juggling act of being a mother, wife and career woman. Listen to the interview now.
