What data entry automation tools are you using?

    Hi all,

    I'm wondering if small businesses use any automation tools to import orders, invoices etc. in to their systems. If so what are the most common/affordable tools?
    Or is Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) through value added networks (VAN) more common?

    When you receive orders and invoices in PDF or other document formats, are there tools to automatically import into ERP or bookkeeping system? Or is it manually imported/entered?
    I understand there are enterprise tools that automate this for large businesses. I'm wondering what common solutions small businesses are using if any.
