Thanks Paul.

The reason I’m not that concerned is that in its essence, NearbyNerd is very similar to Yellow Pages or any other business directory.
Since (I believe) no judge is going to hold Yellow Pages liable for any damages caused by a listed business, I can’t see why it should be different for NearbyNerd.

Don’t you agree?

I would very carefully check into the legal liability question. A solicitor once told me that in the strictest interpretation of the law you cannot transfer liability. In other words, using a statement that you accept no responsibility does not protect you.

I also had a decent insurance rep tell me that if a liability action is brought the plaintiffs solicitor is not so likely to be interested in who is at fault, but who is the easiest target and has the most money!
