Be very clear on what your outcome is when you meet each person :) Supplier/Potential Customer/Mentor etc.
Be very clear (and passionate) about your products and where your starving crowd is.
Ask them if you can follow up with them at a future date. Write it down on the spot (shows commitment) and add a few notes and match them to their business card. Date the page!
I use a Pukka Pad 200 Jotta from BigW (Double wire bound and plastic coated front. fits in back pocket).

Read ‘Never Eat Alone’ By Kieth Ferrazzi to get some ideas about properly networking. :) I never stop promoting that book lol.

Go home, summarize and put reminders in your diary/todo list.

Oh and read all the articles/posts here on networking :D
