From my understanding, the business name has to be registered in the State in which your registered office is (including home business). That doesn’t stop you working with/ or visiting clients in other states or worldwide, but you can’t have separate offices/shops in other states unless you are registered there. Applies whether sole trader or company. In other words, you must have a business address for each state if you wish to register in other states.
I suggest you talk to your accountant/solicitor about this now rather than later.
