I would employ a bookkeper part time as it may be a little cheaper. Yes – there will be additional paperwork when compared to an outsourced bookkeeper – but wouldn’t the part-timer be doing that work anyway?

This will also free up your accountant to do the higher level stuff.

I also highly recommend you get the accountant to spend a few hours with the bookkeeper so the accountant gets things done how they want it – this is very important! Not much point paying someone if it comes to the end of the year and you have to pay the accountant a bucket load to change everything!
