I hate making cold calls and try to avoid it where possible.

But sometimes you just feel that a business could benefit from hearing from you. For example.. I know that some of our competitors in the local area charge alot more for the services and judging by continual feedback we received, they arent very friendly either!

Are there any tips for how I can approach local businesses without being spammy/pushy and intrusive??… I just want the opportunity to say “hey Im here, I want your business… what do I have to do to get it” – without being annoying!

Emails arent as intrusive… but mainly get ignored/treated as spam. Same goes for direct mail. Fax spam is an option (I feel its ok as long as its relevant to the business you are sending it to!)

any other thoughts?
