Wow, I have some interesting private messages from people assuming I was talking about them. My original post was simply a reminder to other designers that a request for spec work may be cleverly disguised as a genuine order. I should be able to sniff them out by now (I’ve been doing this job since the mesozoic) but to new graduates and those starting out as freelancers…remember your time and ideas have value.
