In terms of buying links – I wouldn’t do it. I’m not the kind who insists that buying a link is going to get you screwed over and punished because contrary to popular belief Google isn’t psychic and there are ways to buy links with some degree of relative ‘safety’. However, it isn’t something I dabble in, not to mention it can turn into a huge waste of money when you can build free high quality links instead.
In terms of selling links – I’m not against this, but I’m only open to doing this on my personal websites (like a personal blog) where search engine rankings aren’t really a big priority. Never on a business site. Having said that I’m very picky about where I link so rarely accept offers and all links are contextual (think sponsored posts) with full disclosure either in the post or somewhere on the site.
