Hi all,

Not sure if anyone will know this for sure, but basically I am set up to work as a freelance web developer but operating under my own name. If I were to add – web developer onto my logo (so that people know what I do), would that mean that it becomes a business name and I would have to register it?

For example – Jaye Clissold – Web developer.

P.S. Just out of curiosity, what do people tend to identify more with; web designer or web developer?

Thanks!

Jaye

Hi Jaye,

It sounds like this would fall into the grey area in legal terms of operating a business. If you call the ABR (http://help.abr.gov.au/content.asp?sid=42&doc=/content/19242.htm&usertype=BC), I’m sure that they’d be able to assist you further.

Cheers,
Shaun
