I have heard similar stories to this & it amazes me how bad some businesses can be… their fault & they expect YOU to cop the shipping costs.

If they refuse to refund the shipping costs I would do a charge back on your credit card (assuming that’s how you paid for it); but before doing that tell them that’s what you will be doing. This is better as you will get the money quicker and they are likely to refund you as the chargeback will reflect bad on them with the banks.
