I would be more likely help support a non profit with money, time or resource donations.
The first thing I would think if donating to a “for profit” business is that some of my donation is going to the owners profit – I can’t see it working if you would be looking for donations. Note: Not all non profits look for donations but it seems the majority do.

If I was going to buy a product and one company had charitable public aims, all else being equal I’d buy from that company.
