Re: what are some marketing ideas/ways to get your business name out in the market???

Thanks for the list- it looks great. Although forewarned- True local has one of the worst user systems I have ever encountered. There are barely any categories to choose from (I had to go under “School”) and the page for submitting the business keeps crashing. Added to that, it apparently take up to a week for them to reply to any questions.
Cheers
Daniel

Hi Steph,

If you have a website – you can include it in a signature on your Flying Solo posts (using control panel you can edit your signature);

For online – don’t limit it to Facebook etc – there are a heap of free online business directories out there so you can list your business in them. Try the following to begin with:

Google Local Listing – http://www.google.com/local/add/business…n-au&gl=au (you will need to set up a Google Account, you can use your current email address to do this)
True Local – http://www.truelocal.com.au/
DLook – https://www.dlook.com.au/signup/signup-step1.php
Local Business Guide – http://www.localbusinessguide.com.au
AussiePages – http://www.aussiepages.com.au
SearchMySuburb.com.au – http://www.searchmysuburb.com.au/getlisted
StartLocal – http://www.startlocal.com.au/
Hot Frog – http://www.hotfrog.com.au/
Free Business Directory – http://www.free-business-directory.com.a…nt_add.php
Yalwa – http://melbourne.yalwa.com.au/post/
Aussieweb – http://www.aussieweb.com.au/

Plus, you should be able to get a free listing in Yellow Pages and White Pages for your business (online and print versions).

The above will take a bit of time to put your details into all of them but is a no cost way of getting your name out there in more places and ways. Do you have a website? If not, perhaps considering having one designed.

There are obviously many ways to promote your business, some can be dependent on your budget so hopefully the above helps as a place to start!
