Firstly, price is one factor. As a small business owner, I have to watch every cent. But I also find as the business owner, I can be too emotionally involved with what I do and how great my services are (it is not always easy to hear people say they are not interested)

There is also a time consideration; I recently sent out 40 letters to real estate agents with the intention of following them up. I got through about 15, but then eveything else involved in running a business got in the way.

Of the companies I have spoken to about telemarketing, most want a minimum commitment of hours, often with set up fees, others want a massive amount for their service. This is not always feasible for a small business owner, and I refuse to compromise and use an overseas company.
