I have a couple of sites in a similar genre… with exact global monthly searches of over 90,000 (so not some obscure phrase with no competition), and they both rank in the top 3 for those search terms, with no links to them at all from what I can work out. I guess they are saying that great content would be more likely to be shared and linked.
