I appreciate we’re all lean-and-mean here on Flyingsolo, and none of us want to spend money where we don’t have to. But I’d encourage you to consider getting some proper advice and getting these documents professionally prepared. It doesn’t cost as much as you might think. And the risks of just copying something off the internet are wide and varied. Eg, I have seen terms in Australia which cite US law, years-out-of-date legislative references, terms which effectively give-away IP, obviously unenforceable penalties and restraints. Darryl has pointed out the complexity of securing payments (which is relatively new law, so most older templates won’t cover it). And so on and on.

Your supply terms are your key to recovering payment, and your lifeline if you are sued by a customer or supplier. They really need to be a priority.

There are a number of small business specialist lawyers that don’t cost an arm-and-a-leg: several of us are active in these forums. Please consider having a chat with one of us, and at least find out how much it would cost you to have your docs written properly.
