Hi mesmer,

I like the new design. Pleasant on the eyes and well optimised for lead capture.

Absolutely critical at this stage is that you don’t leave the two sites running in parallel for too long. This will confuse customers, and my general rule is anything that is confusing to a person is going to be confusing to Google.

You can easily kick-start your SEO for the new site by using 301 redirects from all the pages of the .co.uk site. If you simply point the .co.uk site to the .com.au you will lose all the hard work from the last site, and if you do it wrong you can lose some credibility due to perceived duplicate content. Check out some tips for 301 redirects here: http://www.seomoz.org/learn-seo/redirection

As general guidance, you will want to do the following:

  1. Check the indexed pages by Googling ‘site:http://www.alandbell.co.uk
  2. For each listing pick a page on the .com.au that exactly or roughly corresponds to the content
  3. Make a list of the original .co.uk URL and the .com.au URL you want it to point to
  4. Set up the redirections in a .htaccess or an easier tool
