The site is weak on and off page. It needs a lot of work! You haven’t even optimised the title of the home page for crying out loud!

This is the problem, you say you have a basic understanding, but you clearly do not.

No offense, but your client will most likely be on flying solo in the near future complaining about their bad seo experience.
