It is definitely possible to amend tax returns but I have never done it through e-tax. I can’t guarantee but I think the ATO would only impose penalties if there has been a shortfall in tax paid, and unless you have received an offset from this primary production averaging in the last few years, reclassifying income and expenses from primary production to non primary production shouldn’t effect your tax position.

How far back are you talking about when you say ‘the last few years’? Generally the ato have a 2 year amendment period (from date of NOA) for individuals.
