Hi Happytots,

I’ve bumped your post over to the Starting a Business section.

Personally I’d say wider market research like general demographics and population growth are of limited value, and that you should be focusing more on the viability of what you are selling, and this method of selling it.

For example: Are there successful examples of stores selling what you’re planning to sell? Where are these stores? Why are they doing well in those locations? If you can’t find successful stores to learn from, then are there stores selling different products but to the same audience?

Talk to these store owners. Tell them about your plans and ask if they have any advice.

Maybe some of our other members have used a service or consultant or business coach that can help you work through this process?
