Great advice here already, and I’ll just add making sure you know who your target market is.

Are you wanting to freelance for small business? Medium business? BIG business? Do you want to specialise in content for a particular industry?

Once you know who your ideal customers are, you can get serious about targeting them specifically and developing your client base.

Don’t worry about being nervous. We all get nervous and I read a great blog post once that said if you don’t wake up at 3am and ask “Should I really keep doing this?” at one point in your small business journey, you’re probably not even on the right track.

That same proactive mentality you had getting your website up and running is the same proactive mentality you need to tap into now to start approaching customers.

Remember the value you add to their lives and business, and it won’t feel like selling at all :)
