For me, piping up and saying “I have this problem” is an anxiety-causing thought in and of itself.

I have depression and one of the things that helped me a lot was to actually say to people, I suffer from depression.

Once you get it out there you may be amazed at the number of people who say, me too.

Perhaps a good way to look at things is everyone has some sort of mental health issue, they simply may not have realised or accepted it yet.

And if friend or colleagues drop you or treat you differently because you have a mental health issue – to me they aren’t worth worrying about.
