I totally agree with Kirsty. Over the years we’ve run magazine advertising and found that there is a lag effect. It certainly helps with brand awareness so when people are ready they get in touch. I’ve had people who have come to us years after the advertising had ended. They’ve cut out ads and kept them. Coffee table magazines have a long shelf life as they sit in surgeries, etc. Purchases can take from 2 months to years, so the effectiveness is not always easy to measure. Our items are large, high priced items (gates & wrought iron). Our items are high end, so magazine advertising is a marketing investment.
