Hi Ainslee,
I’m not familiar with your field, but I use my ‘hourly rate’ to estimate the project cost, and provide the overall cost of the project to the client. If there are certain aspects of a project that are offered as an add-on, I might offer them at an hourly rate.
Jacq Hackett has some great things on her website for new consultants, which would be well worth checking out – I’m just reading her book & have picked up some great pointers.
