Hello and good day to you!

I joined Flying Solo nearly 11 months ago and jumped on board but since then my new business has demanded more and more of my time – which is a great thing! But I’m a bit wiser now and I’m trying to work a bit smarter and have more time to contribute to these forums.

Being able to give back what others have given me when I first started my business is very important to me.

Thank you for your time and good luck with your endeavours.

    My motto for this year is;
An ounce of action is worth a ton of theory.

Great motto Friedrich, especially for small business owners.

    Welcome (back).

What sort of business that you do that has been taking up your time?

    Hey Kevin,

Thanks for your interest. I run a print and direct mail business – complete design to letterbox solutions. Currently completing ongoing work with a number of companies and organisations. It’s been a whirlwind journey for me, learning more about myself and taking on new challenges everyday – and surprising myself with the results. With so many possibilities it’s gets kind of overwhelming at times, but the trick is to stay focused and organised.

We’ve recently expanded our capacity and can easily manage another 5-10 clients comfortably. Monthly, bi-Monthly, Quarterly or even Yearly mail outs up to 35,000 are what we specialise in.

If you are thinking about starting your own business, do a business plan, talk to family/friends and make it happen! While it’s hard work and long hours it is very rewarding – especially when your customers keep returning to you.

    Regards,

    Mark.

    Thanks Jayne,

Success can be measured in so many different ways. One of the area’s where I am not so successful at is networking – I’m an abysmal failure at that one! But this year I intend to challenge that, confront my fears and do more to ‘get out there’.

Jumping back onto Flying Solo is the first step in that change for me.

Thanks and good luck with you and your business also.

    Regards,

    Mark.

Well Mark, I noticed on another thread that you’re planning on attending some of the Brissie networking events, so you are clearly taking steps to change that! Good on you.

It really is about shifting your headspace isn’t it? This article by Deb Keep (one of our resident NLP experts) might be interesting reading for you: http://www.flyingsolo.com.au/p316852111_Letting-go-of-limiting-beliefs.html

    Have a lovely day!

Ah yes, change only comes from within… small steps for me. Jumping back into Toastmasters is the next step.

Thanks for pointing me to that excellent article. I’ve bookmarked it and will refer to it frequently.

    Thanks again!
