    Hi There

I have had issues with the time it takes for my website to load and I am hoping that it has now been sorted or at least improved dramatically.

Could you please take a look and tell me how long the site takes to load for you please??

If you have visited my site before you may need to remove the Cache or something (??) before trying it now.

    Thanks very much.

    Lisa

Sorry – don’t know how to remove the cache – but it took 14 seconds without removing it.

Took about the same for me, not exactly quick.

I use a Page Speed plugin for Firebug in Firefox which scored it 78/100 and recommends the following actions (Google them if you’re not sure):

    1. Enable Keep-Alive
    2. Serve resources from a consistent URL
    3. Leverage browser caching

Also the server’s geographical location will play a big role in a website’s loading time. Voucherdeals.com.au is hosted in the UK.

Personally for me it has gotten a lot quicker, only took like 3-4 seconds…. much faster than before.

Only took about 3 seconds for me… As someone said before, hosting in the UK will slow things down a lot, an also it looks like the entire site is built in flash? That’s probably causing problems too with the speed.

hosting this sit in the uk doesnt make sense being target market is Au
and not sure whats going on with the flash…nothing on the site to warrant using it!

Took 8 seconds for me – which if you are just browsing is about 5 seconds too long.

I only wait that long if I have specifically clicked on that website for a reason.

    Okay thank you everyone.

I think it seems to have improved a bit more today.

Craiglongmuir.com – the reason the site is hosted in the UK is because I used a website builder to design the website myself (did not have any budget to pay someone else). The features that the company offers in their packages are second to none compared to any others I have found. I have asked about moving the site to Oz hosts but unfortunately it can’t done for now. For me personally the benefits of what I can do with the website are priority and I suppose the loading time is my compromise. If anyone knows of any other website builder which can rival the one I used and which is hosted in Australia I would very happy to here about it. The site cost me approx $150 in total to build and domain name.

http://www.webpagetest.org/ will let you test speed from various locations.

If you click on performance optimisation it will give you a big long list of things to fix. Groovy.

    11 seconds.
    Too long.
    Are you on wordpress?
If so, search for the super cache plugin.
