Hi, Can anyone recommend a free (or very inexpensive), straightforward app. for annotating PDF documents on a Mac. I’ve tried one and found it pretty tricky – I don’t think its supposed to be this hard!!

    Many thanks, Suzanne

    Hi Suzanne,

I am currently using a app called Goodnotes on my iPad mini to do this. It has this option built in… I find it really easy to use. Apart from annotating PDF its really like pen and paper… Cost is about $8USD from memory (well worth it) Great for taking notes, mindmaps for planning… your handwriting is even searchable. Cool right?

As for a stylus I use a Adonit Jotpro. It costs around $45 on ebay.

    Hope that helps..

+1 for the Tools in Preview.app. It does depend on which version of OS X you have though.

From memory there is significant improvements from 10.8 inlcuding the ability to easily create and add your own signature to the document.

There is really no need to go searching for another App, or paying for one on OS X.
