    Hi
Would appreciate your feedback on our business website: Express Developments

From the guidelines, here are my responses:

    1. It would be interesting to hear what is lacking/missing and what parts need to be improved.

    2. We offer web/software development services and web services (like hosting, domains). We are also building products that could eventually sell, but for the time being the website is only used to see who/how many people would be interested in those products.

    3. Ideally we would be targeting small/medium size businesses that know the importance of the internet and the use of technology in their business.

    4. Specific concerns – is it too much information? Too scattered and not focused enough?

    Thanks
    Tom

    Hi Tom

I’ve had a quick look through your new website, and on a whole it looks pretty good. Well done!

Below are a few (albeit minor) things that came to mind while I was viewing it:

    • Typo in the first slider box – “Our easy-to-use websites to give you the complete control to manage your own website” Remove the ‘to’
    • I’d add the area code (07) into the phone number in the header. You want to be accessible to everybody – not just those in Queensland, right?
    • Visual-wise, I think the three boxes on the home page need to be the same length, with the buttons in the same position
    • Same on the services page – make all the boxes the same size to make it more visually appealing
    • Great to have the mailing list capture form on the home page, but maybe thinking about having some sort of incentive for people to join. – A monthly competition to win something, a free PDF/eBook, a free website analysis etc.
    • I’m not sure about the colour scheme. It certainly seems professional, but perhaps a little dull (sorry!) and without personality. Maybe consider brightening it up a bit, or incorporating another colour?

That’s all – good luck with it Tom :-)

    Hi,

Not too bad I do say.

    A couple of points:

    1. The home page slider is too fast.
    2. I would not put ‘maybe’ services on the site. Either you offer them or you don’t.

    Cheers,

    Matt

    G’day,

Nice site. Simple, modern and easy to navigate. Few things..

I agree with Matthew, the slider is too fast. Either slow it down or have a pause option to give you a chance to read and take in the info.

“Having a website is on thing. Marketing your website is another.
We use ethical techniques to help increase the number of users to your website and keep your site on the first page of search engines.”

    Typo ‘on’ missing the ‘e’

I don’t think you can guarantee the first page of search rankings either, maybe re-word that to say something like ‘keep your site prominent in search engines’ rather than ‘keep your site on the first page of search engines’.

Also, maybe display your prices and more features for each hosting option. For something like hosting I like to price and feature compare online. Then usually setup my hosting immediately.

    Pretty good.

    • You need a favicon
    • The links in your blog articles are the same colour as the text, and so impossible to see
    • whenever you feature boxes beside one another, ensure they are the same height.
    • Add (07) to your contact phone number

    Good luck

    Hi
I have implemented most of your feedback. But is it possible it could be reviewed again?

I’d be particularly interested in finding out if the content is compelling enough as I’m getting a high bounce rate on most pages.

    Thanks

It is for a 800×600 screen – should be full screen for resolutions larger than that?

    What is your screen res?

A high bounce rate is not particularly unusual for a market that is quite flooded. You just need to play the numbers game.
