I think you will find there are many already established vending machines. Its not so much about starting another, its about getting a good location that has not been taking. Unless you plan to have something different, it might pay to look at an existing run.

yeh tony I looked at existing runs cheapest was 18000 and most expensive 100k plus so not cheap

im wanting to start off as cheap as possible buying a good 2nd hand machine getting in with suppliers and see how it goes , obviously its all about location and people traffic .then if its going ok and I like the work etc I can expand either buying more machines or buying an established run

    thx for your reply

    any other info folks

If you can find a vending machine, I wouldn’t think its that hard to get items to put in it. I am sure you have tried this, but have you tried to contact people like Coke. They normally have a vending machine business manager. Sometime they may not give you a good price unless you can order in volume or prove you can become a worthwhile distributor. You may have to go through an second party at first till you get enough volume. The trouble will be getting stock at the right price. You many have to run at a loss or break even for a while until you can create a steady ordering pattern.

I think it would be annoying running around town filling up machines and collecting coins! But that’s me. Don’t forget to factor in repairs and maintainance because those machines cop a hiding. You can’t really build the business either, I mean you just rely on traffic. I prefer a business where I can drive customers to it via Internet marketing or offline marketing. With a vending machine, who knows what will happen.

    Best of luck

I’d recommend getting a small business loan and buying an already established business. Less risk!
