    Hi all,

I’m starting to get some stable orders, at about 150 shipments per month (have had 466 in the last 90 days). I currently do everything manually with postage stamps and print my shipping labels manually using a basic free app in Shopify etc (currently sending small items by letter as less than 20mm in height). I’m now exploring paying a bit more for parcel postage to get better reliability with shipping, more features like tracking and sign on delivery and also some integration with Shopify that will help me 1) streamline my labeling and postage process which I currently do manually; and 2) provide live updates for my customers on their shipment via either SMS or email.

Is it true that AusPost can do this and I can negotiate a parcel contract price? Does anyone have any experience with this, particularly with Shopify integration? I’m also looking at smartsend.com.au as a second option.

    Thanks,
    Christian

    Hi Christian,
Congratulations on hitting such a consistent flow of orders. Being swamped with packing and shipping is certainly a good problem to have!
Hopefully some of our resident ecomm/tech specialists might have some ideas on this integration once they get back online.
    Keep us posted (horrible pun).
    Cheers
    Peter

Hi Christian, have you looked into using Sendle? We have been using them lately for domestic parcel delivery and have found them to be a good option. They use Couriers Please and other couriers?? and have a great web booking/tracking interface. Not sure if they have an API.

Nice tip off Buy Global. You may or may not have seen that Flying Solo members get a nice little ‘bonus’ through this link:

…and in the interests of transparency, I must tell you that Sendle currently support our podcast.

Another vote for Shippit with Shopify. They’ve got great rates already negotiated with carriers and are fully integrated with Shopify already – https://apps.shopify.com/shippit

    Hi everyone. First post.

I’m in the same boat, we are gearing up for online and I’m looking to try to create an efficient pipeline from the outset (I’m an engineer I can’t help it).

We are using shopify and will shortly be picking up a thermal printer and looking to use a integration with shopify that can print labels on demand using the thermal printer with adhesive labels.

What is everyone using nearly 5 years on from this post?

Hi and Welcome to Flying Solo,

It is normally MUCH better to start a new thread than to reply to an old one – any more than 3 months old and a new thread is better in my experience.

I hope you find what you are looking for.

    Cheers
    Paul
