    Hi All,

I have just had a client ask me if I can back-date an invoice to 29th June 2012. Just wondering if this is ok or is it illegal or anything? Never had this request before, and didn’t want to do something if it was against the law?

If the work was done prior to this date, then it’s fine.

If the work is still to be done, you can still invoice it that date, but does it benefit you to have the income included in your 2012 figures? I’d make the decision based on how it affected me. If it didn’t affect me, then I’d keep the customer happy.

    Wendy :)

    Thanks Wendy,

I just wasn’t sure if there were any legalities in it. It makes no difference to me, as my accounts are on cash not accrual, so it only matters when he pays to me!
